Private Ultrasound / NIPT
Book Private Ultrasound and NIPT without a referral
In Stockholm County, all pregnant women are offered a first-trimester ultrasound (FTUL) or a combined ultrasound and blood test (CUB) between weeks 12–13 + 6, and a routine ultrasound (RUL) between weeks 19–20.
If you feel the need for additional confirmation that your pregnancy is progressing as expected, we at Blicka Ultrasound Clinic in Täby offer private examinations.
Viability Ultrasound
Private Viability Ultrasound week 8+0-11
The examination is in general performed transabdominally. In cases where the image quality is limited due to factors such as the position of the uterus, previous abdominal surgeries, or other conditions affecting imaging, a transvaginal ultrasound may be conducted.
During a Viability Ultrasound, we assess fetal heart activity, the number of fetuses, gestational age, and whether the pregnancy is developing normally for the given gestational week. A printed photo from the examination is included.

PRIVATE nipt
Private NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) from 12 weeks
NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test) is a blood test that can be taken on the pregnant woman after she has first undergone CUB. If the CUB test shows an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities, NIPT is offered free of charge.
If you would like NIPT despite a low-risk CUB result, it can be performed privately at your own cost. The test is risk-free and has high reliability. It analyses small amounts of cell-free fetal DNA found in the mother’s blood to assess the likelihood of chromosomal abnormalities such as Trisomy 13, 18, 21, or an abnormal number of sex chromosomes.
If the NIPT result indicates a high risk, a chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis must always be conducted to confirm the diagnosis.
See more information at Karolinska
Because the sex chromosomes are analyzed, the gender of the expected child can be known if desired. If you have recently done your CUB (max 7 days ago), you can book NIPT without ultrasound. Otherwise, NIPT with ultrasound is recommended.
A printed photo from the examination is included if you have chosen NIPT with ultrasound.

PRIVATE 3D/4D ultrasound
Private 3D/4D ultrasound with Growth Monitoring optimally at 24-30 weeks
Growth monitoring is performed transabdominally. Growth Monitoring can be performed from week 24+0 and onwards in the pregnancy. Crucial for obtaining good and clear 3D/4D images is the child's position and that there is enough amniotic fluid in front of the face. High BMI and scar tissue can affect image quality. The best conditions are between weeks 24-30. During Growth Monitoring, the child's head, abdomen, and thighbone are measured to estimate approximate weight. Heart activity, fetal movements, fetal position, amniotic fluid volume, and placenta placement are checked.
A 3D ultrasound provides a three-dimensional image of the child in the womb, which can give a more detailed and realistic image. Many parents feel that a 3D ultrasound offers a more personal experience and can make it easier to bond with their unborn child.
4D shows the fetus's movements and provides a lively 3D movie. If lucky, one can capture the moment when the child yawns, sucks on their hand, or stretches.
We place great importance on ensuring you have a pleasant time during the visit.
If it's not possible to obtain any images at all, a free return visit is offered, or one can choose to only pay for the growth control (900 SEK for 30 min / 1200 SEK for 60 min).
Growth Monitoring with 3D (photo) 30 min 1200 SEK.
Three printed photos from the examination are included, as well as digital images.
Growth Monitoring with 3D/4D (photo and, if possible, film) 60 min 1900 SEK.
Three printed photos from the examination are included, along with several digital images and, if possible, a short film.
Private TVK
Private TVK week 24-41
Growth monitoring is performed transabdominally. Growth monitoring can be performed from week 24+0 and onwards. Fetal weight may need to be monitored if the midwife’s measurements suggest that your abdomen has grown more or less than expected, or if there are risk factors that could affect fetal growth.
During the examination, the child's head, abdomen, and femur are measured to estimate approximate weight. Heart activity, fetal movements, fetal position, amniotic fluid volume, and placenta placement are checked. The later in the pregnancy, the more difficult it usually becomes to see the child in full on the screen as it gets tighter and the child lies further down towards the pelvis.
However, later in the pregnancy, it is safer to estimate the expected birth weight. There should be at least 14 days between one growth assessment to the next. A printed photo from the examination is included if possible. If the child is larger or smaller than normal, we will assist you with further management.
Doppler flow studies may also be performed to assess blood flow in the uterine and fetal circulation, providing additional information on placental and fetal well-being

Private CUB
Private CUB week 12-13+6
The Combined Ultrasound and Blood test (CUB) includes an ultrasound scan together with a maternal blood test measuring PAPP-A and free β-hCG. The scan is performed transabdominally.
During the CUB appointment, the pregnancy is dated and you receive an estimated date of delivery (EDD). We check the number of fetuses, fetal heart activity and amniotic fluid volume. The fetal anatomy is examined according to the SFOG checklist to identify major anatomical abnormalities, and the position of the placenta is assessed.
A risk estimate for chromosomal abnormalities — including Trisomy 13, 18 and 21 — is also calculated. If the result indicates an increased risk, further diagnostic testing such as non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) or invasive sampling (amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling) may be offered.

Private Anatomy Scan
Private Anatomy Scan
week 12-22
The examination is performed transabdominally. The pregnancy is dated and you get an estimated date of delivery (EDD) if you have not already done CUB or FTUL before. Heart activity, fetal movements, amniotic fluid volume, and placenta placement are checked.
We examine the fetus's anatomy very carefully (according to SFOG's checklist for fetal anatomical review). After week 15, if you wish, you can usually also find out the gender.
